Which Glidecam?

I'm considering to buy a Glidecam V8 or a Glidecam 2000. And I guess there are major differences. But my question is: Should I buy a V8 or go for the GC 2000 and wait till I can afford the Smooth Shooter?
Thanks

What weight will be on the head? I curretnly own a dvx and GC 2000 with a arm brace and it works great, I am also saving up for the Smooth shooter.

It's for my dvx100.
I can get a used v8 for something around 1000$ including shipping and taxes(25%). The Smooth shooter is was more expensive.

I don't know if it's possible to separate the v8 rig - to use the stabilizer without the west..
'Cause that's an advantage with the gc200+Smooth shooter. But in the end of the day the question is; Is it worth buying a used v8, or should I wait. And get a GC2000 to begin with..? :undecided

You gotta ask how much stablizer work do you anticipate ? Are you shooting an episode of E.R. or will you onyl use it for certain shots, sometimes ?

It's your budget.

I have the Glidecam 2000 and love it; rarely have used it but loved it when I needed it; worth the price point

If you are just flying the DVX without very many on-camera acessories, then the Merlin is a good option too.
