..can you guess which grab has been influenced by the legendary John Hudson?
...since the thread was resureccted ill post one of the finished color corrected shots from the guys fce here.. skin tones are better.. better overall.. anyway..
! I had to use them im that project. I couldnt resist, as they were absolutely perfect for it! ..just thought id post a grab here.
..as to the lighting.. gotta give props to the sun. these were all natural lighting with no reflectors or anything. the top and bottom are heavily color corrected and are for a dark city matrixy looking type of short, so the colors are all weird , but in context of the rest of the project they look pretty cool. ..very hard sunlight from side during magic hour.
LOL! no gun.. sorry to dissapoint. that grab is actually from a short comedy. .. maybe ill AE in a gun ..or two though. ..you can never have enough guns.. but i should have pulled a dolly zoom then too.

#1 and #3 the subject wa moving as well as the camera was moving, not so crisp. + the collor correction was overdone and preliminary. not sure what else i had on there at the time. #2 and #4 subject was fairly still for a fraction of a sec at least. they were in the middle of motion really though. anyway its just proper focus and correct exposure. the longer end of the lense used there will give sharper results from DVX as well. wider shots lack the same detail and sharpness. id guess i was at about Z60 to Z70. dont know what the iris setting was. tapes are archived so im not about to go back and check but it had to be more towards the open end given the shallower DOF.
