Which Follow Focus???

Redrock has a Followfocus coming out that I got to play with. It's the one I decided to buy.

What about the Vogas Manual Focus Controller MFC-V
Well, it's Vocas and not Vogas.......
I own a mattebox made from them, i can say very high quality; if the ff is following the same high standard production level they use to have, well, gonna be a nice piece.
Anyway, just a suggestion for everybody out there, be aware of Cavision, it's just CRAP!!!!!!!

Ive done research after reading all the input and I really like the Foxi from what ive seen it seems so versatile. my only question can all of these ff work on my dvc80 or do I have less options?

SHOWDOWN would be great.. or review. For a complete package.... Rods, plate, monitor arms, FF, 35mm adapter, follow focus, matte box, 4x filters, shoulder braces, hand grips, on camera monitor...

I'm sure a lot of people will be buying something and it's hard to figure on each without getting some hands on time... An indi showdown would be the cats PJs...

They give you any lead time on delivery?

Supposed to be taking orders later this month. It's very sweet. Not Cinetech but nothing is. Cinetech is the first follow focus I've ever seen and its NICE!

But the Redrock is REALLY NICE, too.

I was wondering if it work to mix and match different brand ff. for example use the flyfocus but use rods and plates from lets say red rock?

Most follow-focus systems are set to industry-standard 15mm x 60mm OC iris rods for mounting. If the mfg. spec. is good enough, you should have no trouble mixing brands.

I have used my PRO.STUDIO FF-II from JBK Cinequipt for years on my BetaCam SP, 35mm mo pic, DVX100A, and now on my HVX200. It is a real work horse. Jerry now sells a lighter weight FF for $650. It is his FF-201/15 Item #10201FF. Whichever FF unit you buy, JBK, Chrosziel, Redrock or whatever, you will need a gear on the HVX lens. JBK offers the Item #10206LRA for $155. I have bought several items from JBK over the years and they have all been excellent products.

Judging from the quality of the M2 and the way James does things, I'm sure the Redrock FF will be a great product. It is just not in James' nature to build something that is not first rate.

So, that's my 2 cents worth. I have done business with both of these companies and their founders and highly recommend them both.
