Which Cannon DSLR Best Matches the C100 for Interview 2nd Angle?

And please don't say the 5D III, can't afford it presently...

I am buying the C100 and at present I don't have a DSLR, yet we're going on vacation and my wife wants some better stills this time. So I figured I might as well buy something that I can use as a side angle interview 2nd camera. Will any other Canon DSLR match the C100? I'm not familiar with the Canon line since I come from a Sony & Panasonic universe.

I also have a Panasonic AF100 and perhaps with enough testing that can also be used as an extra angle for interviews?

Thanks,

Sorry! Thought I had posted to the C100 board. But thanks for the advice. Looks like the T2 & T4 are a lot less expensive than a 5D III.

Thanks

After trying many other cameras, I just rent another C100 from the 10 other people I know who have one.

Cheaper and better.

Hi Matt,

But...I need some sort of DSLR for taking vacation photos. We were in Paris for two weeks in June and all I had was a $150 point and shoot camera, pissed the wife off. I didn't want to look like an American tourist. Now we're going to Australia for two weeks and she wants me to take better photos.

So...I figure if I have to buy a DSLR might as well be Cannon and hopefully not as expensive as a 5D III.

Sounds like a tough client, Ned!
But nice vacations, too!

If you have Canon lenses, or are adding more for the C100, the t4i is probably a good choice.
But there's also the Panasonic GH2 or GH3 in the m4/3 world.

You might try and pick up a 5D mk2, they're pretty reasonably priced on ebay now and still a great stills camera. I've done a couple of shoots with the C100 and 5d mk2 combo, used a neutral PP on 5d and Brian Weed's cinelog on the C100. They seemed to match fairly well. Had to soften the C100 stuff and artificially sharper the 5d, but they cut together OK. No matter what you use though (short of a 2nd C100) you are always going to have to degrade the C100 to match the B-cam.
