Which Avid Editor?

I want to learn an avid NLE to make myslef more marketable in the Job Market. I see on the website there are 3 different lines it looks like. liquid, express pro and media composer. It seems to me that liquid is more all in one and least powerful then express pro and then media composer is the most professional is this true? What would you recommend?

Also how is studio toolkit? are the programs that are in it what I should be looking at also?

Learn Xpress Pro instead of Media Composer. If you have access to Media Composer, learn that. If not, get Xpress Pro, as it's cheaper and I heard there aren't too many differences. If you know Xpress Pro, you could probably pick up Media Composer, as the interface is pretty much similar. Media Composer just supports more types of footage.

I could be wrong as I don't use Avid, so maybe someone else who does could chime in and give you a better answer.

Media Composer is the industry standard in the film and television buisness, so you should learn that. Editing on an Xpress Pro system is almost exactly the same, but it doesn't have as many effect capabilities. If you end up trying to get work on reality-news type shows, it's good to know some of the Media Composer effects that Express Pro doesn't have, such as the Paint, Animatte, and Timewarp tools.

I wouldn't bother trying to learn Avid Liquid. I think it's based on a Pinnacle editing system that Avid bought, and I've never heard of anyone in using it in Hollywood.
