which 3D Softare plays better with AE?

Hey guys,

I am looking to take my motion graphics to the next level by bringing in a 3D application. I have no intention
of becoming a 3D specialist, in fact, I don't think I want to do any modelling ( I will work with pre-built models )
or scripting as I am already spending way too much time on the computer as it is. What I want to do is basic animations, camera fly throughs, camera tracking, maybe even trying out the particle and dynamics features in 3D.
After Effects will always be my "home", but we as we all know , AE interacts with a myriad of other programs.
So my question basically is: which 3D software interacts better with AE? Maya? 3DS Max? Cinema 4D?
Very keen about trying "MatchMover" for camera tracking ( I am a cameraman by trade so it would be crazy not to try that out ) I heard it comes included in the Maya package?

thanks in advance,

If you are already comfortable in AE and simply want to integrate 3D objects into comps, then one option may be Element 3D.

Also, AE CS6 has 3D camera tracking built-in so you won't need a separate app for that, unless you want something devoted to 3D tracking, in which case I would suggest taking a look at SynthEyes.

Thanks Jive. I've noticed there are a few camera tracking add-ons for After Effects, such as SynthEyes, CameraTracker and of course MatchMover. Not sure if MatchMover is standalone though, but it comes as part of Maya. That, plus the superior particle and dynamics system makes Maya really appealing to me. On the downside, I don't know how good it can interact with AE. Cinema 4D on the other hand, claims to have the best interaction with AE, and it seems it might also become part of the CS package in the near future. I think the latest version of 3DS Max also has fantastic interaction with AE.

Cinema 4D plays really well with AE especially with the upcoming version of CC which comes with Cinema 4D Lite.
