Where's your IMDb starmeter at?

LOL dang... way down at the bottom :-)

I can't see the short yet... my work blocks myspace... I will when I get home

LOL me neither, I have never had IMDB pro account... I will have it once I'm ready for a big project which I'd need some contacts, I suppose :-)

I'm not sure if starmeter even matter for ppl like me... my sole purpose was to do as much as i could so I could learn and improve as i go because I am far from perfect...

Remember, only way to improve is to keep doing it....

I don't think it really matters all that much, but I think it can help you determine how popular/well known you are from a marketing perspective, something that is not easy to determine. If you are in the the top 500, that can't really be discounted, especially if you maintain it and aren't manipulating the numbers in some way.

But overall I think you're right it doesn't matter that much. But I look at it from a different point of view. My main interest in looking at it is to see how well known GLP is with actors and crew people. I don't care so much about the rest right now, but I still want to work with the best actors I can and it's hard to do that if many of them don't know who you are. It also helps to see if people are following your casting calls and if you're doing a proper job with PR to connect with people and get your name out there more.

When we did our feature premiere of KH, we had one of the top talent agents (who runs one of the largest talent agencies in Texas with a huge book of actors/actresses) come out to watch our premiere. There happened to be three other premieres that night that she could have went to and she chose to come to ours. For her to know about and choose to come out was a great honor. Looking back I think the movie could have been better and I've improved on some things, but to see her there in the theater among others and to hear she enjoyed it, personally made my night. So I think it's just getting out there more, and getting involved in your community through producers association meetings, local forums/group participation, myspace, facebook, vimeo, offline groups and organizations, etc.

I think it also goes back to when I did my first casting call and got all those no shows, and cancels, it was a real challenge to shoot something. The next project there were also cancels, no shows, people not replying back to scripts sent. The next as well, but over time it wasn't as bad as on the first project. So it's more about building up some momentum to attract certain people to the work you do.

Starmeters are different for individuals, versus for companies. GoodLuck's 2344 is a company starmeter. Karl, yours peaked at about 44,000 when "The Day After Tomorrow" came out, and it's bounced around between about 55,000 to 300,000... but today it's down around 238,000. It's really crazy though -- during a short run on Medium from Oct 4 to Nov 8, you went from #91,865 all the way down to #611,008. No explanation, just a huge plummet. The release of Avatar brought you back up to 148,714, and it's been drifting down since then.

Can you see the entire life timeline of your starmeter? Now I'm kind of interested. Would someone with pro check "Zachary Ryan Block" and let me know? :) Thanks,
