Where's the sonic screwdriver?

Oddly enough a friend of mine came round for tea today and, unbeknownst to me, he had been a 2nd AC on both the Doctor Who 50th anniversary episode (that might well be him hovering around the magliner behind the good doctor) and the up-coming series of Sherlock.

He said they had FS700s as standard on the camera truck on both productions - they brought them out whenever the director fancied a cheeky slow-mo shot to add in to the action (there were other 'phantom days' where they had intended all along to shoot high speed).

Apparently they recorded internally to AVCHD, no external recorders.

So next time someone asks you: have they used the FS700 on anything big? You could just shrug and say "well, the BBC used it on Sherlock and Doctor Who..."

Just thought I should share that tidbit.

As a big Doctor Who and Sherlock fan, this gives me way more pride in my choice of camera than it should...

+11 (one for each Doctor, so far)
