I have yet to see any HPX-250 footage in actual broadcast at the Olympics Trial that's airing now on satellite/cable TV. So far it have been all 2/3" and box lens cameras. Picture quality is pretty much A grade w/ those class of cams. Perhaps that only larger cams have full triax for live feed vs. the HPX250. How is the HPX-250 or any Panasonic 1/3" type of cam used in the past and present Olympics? Just curious to know..

Just a guess but I would think more in prepared pieces they play during the live broadcast. The larger cameras are just setup better for live broadcast. And, while the HPX-250 has a nice image, the big rigs have the better lenses as well.

I get the regular Panasonic newsletter and they've mentioned for a while now how they are supplying the cameras to the 2012 Olympics here in the UK. Your right, most will be 2/3 cameras but they are using the AG-3DP1 3d camera as well which uses the same 1/3 inch imagers as the 250. here's a link to one of their press releases :- http://www.panasonic-broadcast.eu/e...iacy-from-the-london-2012-olympic-games,,4471
