You need to get the "Section 6378 Exemption Certificate"; you could probably download this from the government website. The company that I bought the camera from emailed me the form. It will give you 5.25% off local tax rates if you use the equipment for production.
 
I do the tax exempt deal with EVS all the time.
Hey FullRez - who says that I'm not already deep into projects? Ok, maybe I'm waiting on a script to be finished and maybe I sold my DVX to buy the HVX. I need a freaken camera first :) But, I'd love to give a shoutout to the OC boys and Girls to pool resources. You know Pappas is like 3 miles from me :)
 
Oh, I know we all have our personal projects going on, I just think it's great to come to a website like this, sharing common goals, interest in the same camera and living so close (down the street in boo's case).

Anyone want to exchange numbers?

I had an old VW van... BOO HOO. I loved the darn thing.. That is until it exploded on the highway and I watched my beloved 8k van burn up right before my eyes.. but thankfully the tow truck guy/junkyard gave me 75 bucks for the van. That was a deal!!!!

I would love to get another one, but man they are hazards. The cop told me he stopped counting how many he has been blow up. I personally have seen mine, and another one become a mushroom cloud. Apparatnly it's due to the alternator being right next to the hottest part of the engine.. and sparks coming off the alternator and then the fact that these things spew oil everywhere.

There isn't anything better though than crusing to a gig in one. I comfortably put 9 big dudes in the van before.. before it blew up.. I think i have to go a 12 step program to cope. My wife though.. she's friggin' glad I don't have it anymore.

That really sucks man. Right now I a looking for a VW safari buss (The one with 13 Windows) hard as hell to find one that is not already restored. They are worth allot. I saw one go at the berit jackson auction last week for $65,000 for a vw bus.

I am not totally stranded now... but my beloved van was replaced by a Hyndai. I know.. I know but they are so friggin' cheap and reliable that I'll look like a giant tool in it to save cash every month.

congrats on the safari. Those are so so so nice. As I left in the PM, my buddy had one and it was the coolest. Cherry red .. fully restored.. with the coolest shag carpeting interior.

NOw.. I have to go into VW therapy again.... boo hoo. I will get another one, but I'm not looking forward to cleaning and restoring again. Mine was in such bad shape when I got it.. but its not like a car... it's more. LOL

And for those looking, do not buy a 1993 Eurovan.. or for that matter any VW made after 1996 as those are made in Mexico now.... Terrible terrible cars these days. I yearn for my 1988 VW Vanagon. Maybe next time I'll get the camper version, pull my kids out of school, tell the wife to braid her armpit hair, and we'll shoot HD footage of our hippie friends selling grilled cheeses... all in super glorious SLOW MO ... or as I hear it in my head... SCHLOMO
 
Thanks for the tip on a great deal.... I just put my order in! This company has been around since the 60's and is a commercial outfit only, so I feel good about giving them my hard earned cash.

Barbara is the sales contact, and apparently they had an initial order of 25 which will be delivered in March. I was 24 on the list... There is one more left for the March delivery. FYI... Panasonic is shipping directly from Japan to outlets.
