GH3 where?

Good luck getting one before the end of January now.. They are out and backordered now. I got mine a few days ago from Samy's after pre-ordering early in Nov.
 
Don't give up hope. Here's what I did. I went through the Panasonic list of dealers and called about 20 independent businesses. I put my name down on multiple lists and within one week I was able to get a camera. I got mine from Midwest Photo Exchange in Columbus, OH. They were OUTSTANDING. Great Service. I purchased it on Tue and got it yesterday. You have to do some work to find one, but persistence paid off.

We still have GH3 cameras here in Toronto. I bought mine last night. ( just walked in off the street )

The usual suspects in Toronto are:

Aden Camera

Henrys Camera

Vistek

...Also, GH3 battery grips just came in at Aden Camera, so I bought one of these this afternoon.

I was in Midwest Photo last week and they were expecting a shipment that day. Probably the batch that you got yours from. I remember that they also had GH2s when they came out and nobody could find them. Might be a good idea to keep them in mind for the future. I pre-ordered mine from Amazon on day one and got mine in the first shipment wave. Very pleased with it so far.

Did anybody make an order in Canada and had it shipped to USA? I am thinking about ordering from Henrys but I am worring about additional taxes etc? Do you guys have any experience in ordering in Canada?

kopan - I got my GH2 from The Camera Store in Calgary in December 2010 when you couldn't find one in the States. I ordered the camera with the 14-140 for $1538 plus $25 shipping, just a little above the $1499 list in the States. There were no additional tariffs or duties because the US, Canada and Mexico are all part of the North American Free Trade Area.

When I looked a shopbot.ca just now, there were still a few cameras left at Vistek and Henry's. Good luck!

No idea, but it feels pretty solid on the camera. I bought it for two reasons:

1- Longer shooting times ( I am hoping for 4+ hours of video shooting with 2 batteries )

2- Vertical still photography. Mainly when shooting portraits with a hand-held camera. The grip with duplicate vertical controls are a must.

Thanks for info about this store. I called them friday 12/14 and asked about gh3. They said there are 2 people before me for preorder so i asked if they can put me on the list. Today i had phone call that they have it and i gave the credit card and i will have it on wednesday. With free shipping... So glad i called them friday. Just one bad thing is, that i live in ohio so i had to pay tax :/
 
Anyone have a line on any GH3's?

When will the big online stores be getting the next shipment in from panasonic?
 
I don't want to jinx it (already got hosed on another clearance purchase this week), but I just went down the authorized retailer list & it looks like I got one of the last ones in stock at one of the smaller places.

Edit: I visited the web site of Norman Camera & it said they had a GH3 in stock. Gave them a call about 15min before they closed for the night, was put on hold for about 5min & then heard "there is one more in stock, I thought it had been sold already." It arrived today.

If you're looking for one, check out the list & start calling. Many of the smaller places don't have all their stock listed on their site, it would be a 2min call to any of those places to see if they have any GH3s in stock.

(My un-informed gut tells me) all the big places, B&H, Adorama, probably have a long wait list so check out the smaller guys. I'm not the first person in this thread to find one by going down the list.
