Where to buy DIVX?

I was going to purchase my DVX at evsonline.com due to their affiliation with this site and their reputation but then I realized that they are located in CA therefore I would have to pay sales tax. Adding another $260-80 to the total cost is not going to work for me.

Does anyone know of another authorized reseller online(located outside of CA) that has similar prices and reputation?

I think everybody is. If you backorder with them you probably won't have to wait very long. Did you give them a call?

can anyone tell me why the DVX Pal only shoots at 25p? does it not support 24P? prod spec says 25p 50.

Yes, you can go wrong as this place is not an authorized reseller. You will not get the Magic Bullet promotion nor will you have a Panasonic US Warranty.

Hey Jan, no magic bullet for dvx's bought in june :'(....
oh and in response to this post, call up EVS and talk to them about the tax, and bhphoto is great to deal with to that's where I bought mine and it came in something like 3 day's. just like Jan said, alway's buy from an authorized reseller

DVX's from BuyDig do come with a US warrenty... that's where I got mine before I just sold it. Can someone explain how this works?

Buydig is not an authorized reseller. Therefore, apparently Panasonic can choose to ignore warranty claims on product bought outside the dealer network, because there is no paper trail back to Panasonic to show ownership history of the camera. Buydig does not buy their cameras from Panasonic. So what you had may have been used, or an import, or maybe it actually was a real US model, actually new, just bought "under the table" from an authorized dealer. If that's the case, you bought it from Buydig, who would be classified as the "end user", so perhaps the warranty coverage would not extend to you because you were not the original purchaser.

In any case, there's no paper trail back to Panasonic, so no warranty...

HUH, well I guess I will probably fork out the extra cash and buy from B&H next time. I don't think that this is common knowledge and I think I'd be heading to small claims if my camera stopped working and was denied warrenty service because of the store I bought it at. At the time that I bought my DVX, I saved at least $200 bucks by going to BuyDig.com

Hi sorry it took me so long to get to you, you can fill out a simple tax discount form and pay only $109 in tax. If you come pickup, there is no shipping! And, you get to open the camera up right there in our front lobby, make sure all the accy's are there, and the camera works. We can't hide behind the internet curtain like some others, we have a front lobby! ;D rush@evsonline.com
