Where to buy a HMC 150 Battery??

Nice price there buck. I have also seen it for 119 around at places. I think AVS supply in San Diego.

How's things Buck?

I had placed an order with videodirect last week then come to realize that they list that battery as 5400mAh. I called them to see what the deal was. The first guy to answer the phone sounded like it was the end of the world that he had to actually answer the phone then all of the sudden a new guy comes on and I try to explain to him that they either have a mistake on the site or its not the battery for the 150. He didnt even know what the 150 was and was pretty rude at telling me to scroll down on their website and if my camera is not listed for the battery then it probably wont work so I canceled my order.

I then receive an email from them after canceling and they say that they have sold so many of those batteries that they think it is the battery for the 150 and that it could be a mistake that they have it rated as 5400mhA instead of the 5800mAh even though the model number matches.

All though its a good price I went with Spec-Comm so I know I'm getting the right battery even though its $30 more and the service from them is great.

Has anyone actually ordered this battery from VideoDirect?

I ordered 2x5800maH batteries from VidInc last week. Batts arrvied yesterday and they were good to deal with. I think they had 6 in stock when I placed my order.

I have, and received the correct 5800mah battery. Their website is incorrect.

thats cool. its a good price. but supporting DVXuser sponsers is good too. thanks Spec-Comm

"Has anyone actually ordered this battery from VideoDirect? "

Yes I ordered one from them with no problems.

Justyn things are ok, just got back from St. Paul to shoot some Drs.

Sorry, just updated the link. Essentially, it's the same photo and similar model #'s. Just tying to see if there is any downside to ordering the battery that's $20 cheaper. Thanks.

Still doesn't work for me... I see these 2 under the HMC150

  • Panasonic
  • VW-VBG6PPK
  • MFR# VWVBG6PPK
  • B&H# PAVWVBG6PPK
  • Price: $ 169.95

and

  • Panasonic
  • VW-VBG260PPK Replacement Lithium-Ion Battery Pack
  • MFR# VWVBG260PPK
  • B&H# PAVWVBG260PP
  • Price: $ 149.95

hm, works for me. thanks for your help - my question in a nutshell is, is there any difference between the VW-VBG6PPK for $169.95 and the VW-VBG6 for $149.95

Thanks!

Not that I can tell... I have one VW-VBG6 that was shipped to us when we ordered the "PPK" version. The box has an additional UPC sticker slapped on it with the VW-VBG6PPK code on it... but the battery itself is only labeled as a VW-VBG6. My understanding is that the "-PPK" version is also being sold for other cameras, but that you have to use a separate adapter to use it with the smaller cams.
Bottom line - we use the VW-VBG6 batteries where I work, and the battery I was sent by Panasonic is this same model.

OK - I found out a bit more information, for what it's worth. I have the "PPK" version, which I received when I ordered the camera several weeks ago. The "PPK" battery is labeled 5800 mAh. I just recieved the "non-PPK" version from B&H, and it's labeled 5400 mAh. I'm not sure what that translates to in terms of difference in capacity. It's on the charger now - I'll report back once it's finished charging.

According to the HMC150's LCD, both batteries at full charge will give you 252 minutes. They appear identical. So if you're planning to buy one at B&H, save $20 and buy the "non-PPK" version.
