TRAILER COMMING SOON!:)

hey man, the grabs look good.

i do have a few questions before i make judgement over cinematography. But i'll go ahead anyways and await a response.

What was your lighting equipment? Was it all natural? Because many of your stills have very high contrast, to the point where the images blow out in a not so great way. This just moves more into the video look and less into the film look.

Grab # 1, the skin tones are too bright. You need to bring down some of the highs and push the mids slightly. The blacks look good i.m.o. Composition is great however.

#2, also looks great, however the exposure is not. Use your zebras to see when exposure hits 100% ( this is not ocmpletely overexposed) and leave the leveling for post ( get as much information in the image as possible ).

#3, althought being a dark scene, the skin tones are almost completely gone. But again this comes down to a quesiton of lighting.

#4, love it. This one is very artistic, but is difficult to place based on the continuity of the style that you are shooting. But i do like.

$5, just a touch too dark. Your latitude and exposure looks alright. You have enough there to boost the highs a touch as well as the mids.

nice work!

Thanks for the feedback! As a student filmmaker I am all ways looking for constructive criticism. I have all the equipment necessary to edit and shoot a film. I did not however use any formal lighting in this shoot. It was all natural so some thing came out slightly darker or brighter then I would of wanted them to. So I have been using Magic Bullet v2.1 for color corrections in final cut. I will definitely take your advice and make some more corrections so that the skin tones are less blinding.

it looks more cinematic there yes..
but I would also add a colorbalance layer and adjust the shadows a little bit.. just to get that subtle cinematic feeling..

here man, just did some leveling in photoshop with the stills to see what kind of information are still in the blown out areas, tried to bring it a bit more back into legal territory and so on.

no, not saying it needs to look anyway. I was just playing around with the levels.
the only thing i CG'ed was from what i thought were the first three grabs, as they all seemed to be in the same location ( or at least i thought. And since there are fluorescents on the ceiling, i gave the greens a bit of bonus.

looks awsome
but when you had interlacing problems
you need to check out how you export it
if you shot progressive you need to export it out progressive
if interlaced then interlaced

oh and one more problem.
after the kid gets shot he starts getting up right away
maybe you should re shoot that or at least re edit it out of the trailer
