Where do you store source footage?

I use premiere and have neoscene, the problem is the file sizes are HUGE. I'm always hesitant to delete source footage cause I know at sometime I'm gonna get rid of something I need; I like to keep all my footage. But where? Even a 200gb external hd isn't enough.

I usually always save the unexpaned avchd streams to an external storage drive. Then, when I finish editing the movie/project off my main drive (with the footage converted to Pro Res), I use media manager to get rid of the stuff not used in the final edit.

Then, this project usually gets archived on to another external drive. I clear off the main drive. Rinse and Repeat. :-)

I like to copy the whole card file structure to a 500 GB USB hard drive and then I burn each card to DVD-R using Toast (spanned to multiple discs for 8 and 16 GB cards). So I end up with two backups to fall back on.

The 500 GB is just for backup, I also transcode to ProRes to a 2GB G-raid for editing in Final Cut Pro.
