thank you so much. i've never even picked one of these up before, nor do i have any knowledge on "film making" and it's technicalities but i got ideas, and determination....
If you're new to firewire, make certain that you are using the right pin-configuration cable, and that you power things up/power them down safely. Both are opportunities to cause damage, and no one wants *that* to happen...
