Hello everyone. i am new to these parts so forgive me if this question has been asked before.

Where did you buy your dvx100a?

i am looking at a bunch of dealers. authorized and unauthorized. can sites such as resellerratings.com and bizrate be trusted? has anyone bought there dvx100a from an unauthorized dealer?

thanks for the input. soon i will be a real dvxuser (instead of a wooden one)

Re: Where did you get your DVX100a

You didnt need to tell us you were new after asking that question! I'd venture that at least 75% of us got em at EVSonline, where as a registered DVXuser poster you'll get a discount on everything you buy there, and get customer service second to absolutely none. You can call their Glendale office and ask for Rush, who is the kingpen of DVX sales. www.evsonline.com

Welcome to the board! You've gotta lot of digging to do!

D.W. is correct. Right now, Panasonic is offering a $300.00 rebate on a unit that is bought from an authorized dealer.
Unit comes with Magic Bullet software and Barry Greens DVX how to Book. ;D

Hi all, im new as well. I'm planning on going the dvx route as well. as soon as the funds start coming my way.

how much of a discount do they give?

Re: Where did you get your DVX100a

thanks for the input thus far! indeed, DW, i do have a lot of digging to do (and i'm already at a graves depth). evs looks RIGHT ON! still, though, i wonder about the other 25% who shopped elsewhere...

Re: Where did you get your DVX100a

Everyone on this board will tell you, DON'T go for the lowest price. Sure sign of a ripoff.

Rush's price is about as good as you'll find -- unless you want to buy yourself a lot of heartache. Plus you get Rush's assistance before, during, and after the sale.

Rush: "questios" sounds like the latest California slang!

Re: Where did you get your DVX100a

yea, evs is the best i've found; i think i've dug my last dig. anyone need to borrow my shovel?

thanks.

Re: Where did you get your DVX100a

I decided to not buy online and buy from a local dealer. I searched panasonic's site for an authorised dealer and went to American Media Solutions in Stafford, TX.(near Houston)I remember the feeling I got when I held the camera for the first time. It was different than seeing it in pictures. They gave me a great deal $3350 plus helped me with accessories.

Re: Where did you get your DVX100a

my first dvx-100a came from abel cinetech in NYC but that was only because they were one of the very first places in the country to receive the dvx-100a.

i just bought my second dvx-100a from evsonline/rush

rush gives great prices in general but he takes off a little more to people from here, so if you order anything from him mention that you are from dvx-user.com

Thanks Powerdog! ;D I fixed it, I fixed it! Although, hmmm, "questios", sorta like oreos shaped like a question mark :D

I definitely respect Aerosol for going with a local dealer, that keeps his community alive, and is good for everyone. ;)

Re: Where did you get your DVX100a

Bought mine from Rush as well, and haven't looked towards B&H since (at least, not for anything that EVS stocks). The price from EVS is a bit better, and they ship very quickly.

Absolutely no complaints with EVS! :)

Re: Where did you get your DVX100a

Oh, well...confession time. I bought mine via ebay before I'd even heard of this site or "Authorized Panasonic Dealers".

At the time, it was the 2nd lowest price on ebay (the lowest looked a little shady to me...), but for the life of me, I can't remember what it was.

Anyway...got everything it should have had in the box, except the manual was for a 100 instead of a 100A...and no Panasonic warranty. Mack, instead.

So. Since the one-year Pana warranty would have been up in 2 months anyway, I'm not gonna worry about it. ;)

Thanks David, I appreciate your business! ;D

Re: Where did you get your DVX100a

I bought mine used from a business in Austin. My budget was $2000 and that's what I paid. No regrets. If anyone has a tight budget, you can buy used and still be happy.

Good luck.

ok. my, dvx100a is order and will be here in a day or so!!! got it from evs. i am sure rush is nice and all, but i worked with josh and he was awesome!!!! can't wait to deal with him and evs again in the future.

late.

I just got my DVX from Rush at EVS yesterday, great experience!!! I can't wait to get this camera going this weekend!

Sidenote Question: Does everyone generally purchase the Mack Warranty?

P.S. Rush, sorry about the huge stack of green.....I had to do what ever possible to save a few bucks! LOL

Brandon, thanks for the business! Please don't worry about it! I must admit, I never had a taller stack of cash in my hands before, and walking to the accountant's office, I garnered some hoots and hollers from the EVS staff  It was fun!

Don't want to sound like a broken record, but purchased from EVS online/Rush... great service and very knowledgeable

Just check the camera over no matter where you buy it from. I received one with dust in the lens and like an idiot I didn't ship it right back...! now I'm dealing with my second authorized service center, Panasonic, and $110 in shipping charges.. not fun...
