Ive been following this camera on the boards for a very long time and waiting for it to come out for myself. Well i cant get one very soon, but my company is going to be making its own DVD's and we want to create all of our footage in High Definition to be ready for blu ray and HD DVD when they come out. We would like that option of being able to be on the market first to HD content before our competitors.

i called and emailed many places and none would give me straight answers about when i can buy it. does anyone know a sure place so i can link my boss tomorrow and we can get this camera shipped ASAP!?

of course, hes gunna let me borrow it too :)

thats why i want it asap. i get to play with everything new at work first haha

thanks alot

Nic

You're not going to get a "straight answer" from most places, because most dealers have massive backorders in place right now -- which means that they cannot give you an honest answer as to when it'll be available for you; I know that most of the dealers that we have as participants on the forum here have waiting lists in excess of 100 customers each.

It will probably be at least mid-January before the retailers start to have stock on the shelves; it depends on how fast the factory can ship 'em and how deep the back-order situation extends.

I got on the EVS waiting list late and I'm like #130 something. I was told don't expect anything until possibly THE END OF FEBRUARY!! WAHHHHHH!

At least that should give panny a little more time to work the kinks out.

nice 1st post.

i'll try & remember that while all the early buyers are shootin' & i'm waiting...

nah... to be honest i wanna hear some reports from consumers & i may actually rent the HVX for a few days before i jump in. i've cooled.

Yes, getting one later may be a blessing in disguise, but I hope not for the sake of the guys getting them first. We'll look forward to more first hand reports soon!

thanks alot. im dying to get to play with it.we have alot of footage we want to shoot, but cant start shooting til we get this camera. it wouldnt make sense to shoot in on standard definition since we are going to archive the footage until HD-DVD or BLURAY are ready to go, then we will be first out the door with our brand of DVDs

also, if anyone can send me a link to a reliable website where i can jump on board into the waiting lists for one, id appreciate it :)

thanks
