i live in melbourne, victoria and tried to buy from B&H this morning only to find out they dont accept visa ( my card ) or mastercards from australia anymore... Where have people from Oz been getting there AF100's from ?? i there any Oz sellers yet that carry it ???

reards Marty.

Oh, ok, it seems you can't pay with Visa or MasterCard from Australia if the total exceeds $3500, I never knew that. It mentioned it on the Payments page. PayPal is out as well unless you're in the US, Canada or UK.

I was also disappointed to find they wouldn't ship Nikon bodies to Australia. No problem with Canon, on the other hand.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have sent emails to the 3 sellers that have the cam for sale on the panny where to buy page. Any reason why the cam costs about AU$400 more than in the US ??

Thats just the going rate here. Consider that any other cameras in this price range can be 1-2k more than us prices its not bad.

Id still suggest you get it locally. By the time you pay shipping and import duty on the camera if you bought at BH Photo it will cost you more than the $400 difference. In addition buy local, get local warranty.

Broadcast Boffins have told me that they are (little known) Panasonic Dealers as well as sevice agants, so I would definitely give them a call. 9645 1200

Did you know you'll very likely get hit for GST AND import duty when you order form OS on any item above $1000 in value ? It's actually CHEAPER to buy it here than to buy from the US, which is normally not the case. This would add, with freight, about 15% to your US buy price.

You can also order from B&H for more than that, but they won't let you do it on the web. If you ring them and can verify the shipping address they will ship to you. I ordered nearly 20K of stills gear with them a couple of months ago by just phoning them.

But on the AF 100, it's cheaper to buy it here right now.
