When you say, "I love..."

cool little "title"
So we just had dinner, hubby is on wash duty, up the dishes, I on the other hand am on sofa with browser opened to Ebay and I just happen to say outloud:

I love Ebay.

Hubby then says, "Me, too, baby."

Uh, I'm not going to be the one to tell him I meant that I love Ebay, not, "I love you, babe," so I'm uh, still sitting here, enjoying Ebay.

I really crack myself up sometimes.

As another husband with dish duty, I can assure you that this is cause by a phenomenon known as Dawn-on-the-Brain. Dawn gets grease -- and neurons -- out of the way!

Dishes! What kind of self-respecting man does dishes? I only do laundry. Do not dare mix a red sock into my super-white-hot-bleach items. Do not - not if you know what's good for you.

By the way, I will wash, promptly dry and fold any and all laundry in the house. I refuse to put it away though. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

You know how hard it is to hear anything when you are washing dishes? Clinking glass, metal and china, plus splashing and running water - not condusive to any conversation.

*shrug*

After ten years of marriage, I'm fairly certain that the best and safest possible answer to anything your wife says, that you didn't fully register, is, me too, baby.

Maybe the dude was just giving a stock answer because he really wasn't listening. He was doing the dishes after all. It could have been a "Yeah, whatever..." kind of thing.

"I love kicking puppies..."

"Yeah, me too, babe."

A while back, my brother's relationship with his live-in girlfriend imploded because he became addicted to ebay.
He was staying up all hours of the night bidding on items. I guess there was the adrenaline of the last minute bid and the satisfaction of the win.

May have been the catalyst that caused the relationship to crumble.

Granted, he's got it under control now and having a great time being single again. At least I got my wingman back!

Oh trust me, hubby didn't always do dishes. I used to cook and clean back in the day. When son got older and he helped cook, that left only one logical person to clean up. As far as laundry is concerned, I don't do his either. He got this rash when we worked at the hotel and I told him, just to be sure it wasn't contagious (he went to doctor to get it treated) I stated that I would get my own hamper and that we'd have to do our own laundry.

I think I played that scenario really, really well.

The trick, is to just prove yourself so lethally incompetent at any chore you don't want to do, that eventually you just won't be asked, any more.

I was asked to no longer do any of my wife's laundry.
Sadly - I wasn't really trying to get out of it...

I think I may just be naturally lethally incompetent.
At least when it comes to laundry.

I know how you feel. If you didn't want that cashmere sweater to go into the wash with the rest of the clothes, why was it in the laundry? And I don't know how that single red sock got mixed in with the whites. Chicks like pink though, don't they?
