When the 35mm dust settles....

I am DPing the 35mm Showdown in a couple weeks.....

All companies willing to participate are welcome.

My favorite thing about 35 adapters, is the fact that each one has a "personality".

My new thoery is this:
35mm adapters are more akin to film stock. There is no Best.

The "flaws" that one adpater may show could be desirable to some people. The great thing about them is that they handle different shooting situations very uniquely. and this is before you start messing with lenses. just the combinations of different achromats, and GG materials and designs create interesting Irreplicatable ( ie you cant always do it in post) image charachteristics.

What companies are have signed up for the shoot out so far?
Are you contacting them directly? It's probably your best best.

Maybe we'll be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the g35 that's coming out soon.

i doubt the G35 will compete. from what ive heard the organizers, have already goten a negative respnose from REDROCK.

I think this is gonna more be a competition of the sub 1000$ adapters. Go35, Ifocus, SGpro, LEtus family, etc. if they want to compete that is. but i think its more of a tutorial of how exactly you use these lenses and adapters, and what htey actually loook like. I keep beating the "treat 35 adapters are like Filmstock" drum. this way people can see how each adapter handles the same scene differently and choose which ever they feel renders the most pleasing image to their eyes.

People who have limited knowledge in 35mm phototgraphy will have a hell of a time , understanding how this all works so it will also be a bit of a tutorial, on how the basic setups, and camera settings should be set ot get the most performance.

its true it is quite confusing at first. thank god ive been following it for months now.

That sounds like it'll be a good article to read.

Will you post it here or is it for a magazine/other site?

Sorry to hear RedRock does not want to participate.
