When are we expecting the next major revelation?

Its been a while since NAB...

Does anyone know when Panasonic will be revealing anything new about the HVX? Is there a tradeshow date in the future where we expect to see a production model, or hear about the ccd size? etc

New info sure has slowed down a bit round here... we've got to get something more before it goes on the market... right?

Next thing we get should be footage. Probably not for a few months though, maybe around August/September? I'd expect the next time we could see something would be at the WEVA show -- that's where I first got hands-on time with the DVX, so hopefully they'll have an HVX there. That's around Aug. 8-11. Might be a little too early for them to have a working model though.
 
WEVA actually encourages DVX usage? thought those wedding people weren't into 24p.

i hate sonys cams.

is there a possibility that the HVX will look different? more leaner maybe? can't get over the color still.... sorry...
 
Um, the DVX does a whole lot more than just 24p! ;)

I think there's no possibility the HVX would look substantially different. The model Jarred and I examined was called a "weight model", having been engineered to exactly reflect the weight of the production unit. If they're that locked-in, I wouldn't expect any significant changes.

Considering the model at NAB was just that - a model - there's a very good chance the real thing will have a slightly different color/texture to it.
I didn't really have a problem with it's looks though.

omg... haha! i nearly forgot about that. all i do is 24p here and there...

well, just had to ask. with what the thing can do, i would worry less about how it looks.
 
I agree with Barry that the next thing we'll get will be footage. And that'll be a ways off. I mean they gave us all this info now and theres still like 5 months till its release. How much more could there possibly be to reveal?

IBC in Amsterdam starts on the 9th of September (and I am going! woohoo!) No doubt Panasonic is in high gear to have something ready for this tradeshow.
 
hm,
i got this HVX/P2 Promo DVD via a friend and i thought the images were taken with the HVX (at least it is a mock making-of of some japanese guy "filming" a japanese woman in traditional clothes and settings with the HVX...)
its SD on the DVD of course, but still has that ultrasharp HD look...
The Panaguys handed it out on their P2 promotiontour here in Germany...
its in ntsc, so some of you will have it too...??
 
last I heard they are still shooting for footage available by the end of the summer. Very similar to the DVX100 timeframe when it was released.
