Whats your thoughts about moving to Premiere Pro CS6?

I recently switched over to Premiere to try it out a bit. I liked it but the interface is a lot different from Vegas. I'm using Premiere at the moment but I'll still definitely be using Vegas too.

Still leary of cs6 because of the new interface and all. I wish they would add the cs6 updates to the cs5.5 interface for those of us who are used to it.

"Adobe also changed the default keyboard shortcuts, reportedly to make them more efficient for the keyboard related trimming discussed below. Fortunately, you can switch back to the CS 5.5 workspace and change back to the CS 5.5 keyboard shortcuts with just a few keystrokes."

I tried Premiere Pro a couple of years ago. It's a really nice program, but I've been using Vegas since it was Sonic Foundry's Video Factory. It does everything I need it to do and I know where everything is.

I do miss the wonderful audio editing capabilities terribly.

Have you used Adobe Audition in CS6? I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I have heard very good things about it from some serious pros.

That is still on my to-do list. I bought about 5 of the Adobe Classroom in a Book seres books to learn CS6 this summer - Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, Illustrator, plus Lightroom 4, and 2 advanced books - After Effects & Photoshop.

Still working through them. Hoping for something on Speedgrade too. Back to work in September when my wife & son go back to school (although the beach has been more fun than the computer lately.) :)

Best,
Michael

I have, and I like it. The problem is it really is only a solution after picture lock. If you need to go back and make changes to the TRT of a program it's a PITA to get it back into Audition and pick up with the work you have already done.

I really like being able to do the audio work on the Vegas timeline. It's so damn quick and easy. I think I've gotten lazy in my old age. :)

Yup. Vegas has limitations, but I love being able to do all my sound editing and FX right there in the timeline.

Even though i believe the Adobe inter-product integration is pretty good (and apparently getting better), to me this remains a major reason to stay with Vegas.

After thinking about it, I think I'm going to cut my next feature in Premiere because it's pretty effects heavy, the integration with with AE will be a lot nicer than the EDLs I use in Vegas. But, since I do all my sound in post anyway to a scratch track, I'll just render my edit and throw it into Vegas for my sound work. As someone noted earlier, the biggest problem with this is changes after picture lock. Gotta get it right.
