whats your slog final cut pro workflow?

Hey all,
In my current context I shoot, and have to turn around really quickly-as a result I have stuck to the cine gammas for work stuff, and doing a basic correction in final cut pro x (set white, check highlights and shadows, check skin) but I have been experimenting with the 7q and slog for a while, and want to bring it into my work context-especially now I can do 4K proves :)
my question is this...any tips for a speedy slog2 final cut pro workflow? I have also been playing with the LUT emulator and the osiers/impulz package with LUTS
keeping in mind I am limited to final cut pro x at this point...
thoughts appreciated

there are may ways leading to a goal ;-)

I am not talking abutt creating s special look but getting the flat and desaturated sLog2 back to a standard image similar to REC709

you can apply a LUT e.g. from Olof http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthrea...amples&p=1986490322&highlight=#post1986490322

You can create your own LUTs with Resolve 11 lite (there is no need for FCPX limitation)

Within FCPX I often use Natress levels & curves and pushed saturation from color board.

you are true, Erik. I overlooked the intergrated LUTs as I don't use them.
For me the sLog2 LUT does not match to the 7Q sLOG2. BMPC LUT works better
for BM film ProRes files.

I f you decide to go with the integrated LUT you have to stick to the LUT with in the current library.
If you set the LUT to "none" it affects the clip in the event and in every project you use this clip.

Thanks guys,
i actually have lut utility-and been playing around with a few, I actually meant any tips PRIOR to pulling a lut on, or do you guys all start with a LUT, then fix contrast, exposure, skin etc?

Yes apply the LUT first, then do a grade. I find most of the time it is fine just to use the color board in FCPX.

If you have difficult footage then Resolve is way better, I especially like the curve tools, you have incredible control that way. But 90% of the time a quick adjustment in FCPX just like you would any other footage works fine.

Thanks Olof, I am actually thinking about trying resolve-and having a play with it as an editor as well as a colour tool...as much as I would like a final cut then resolve workflow-I just dont always have time...If resolve had multicam I reckon I would think about it
