What's your name mean?

People have called me "Horse" since I was 13. My name is Ryan Gohlinghorst (I know, it's a killer) and the "horst" part became Horse, so HorseFilms it is. Since I'm quite possibly the only Ryan Gohlinghorst in the world, I basically just told everyone where I live.

Just first name and last initial. My first name is rather unique in the US of A so I've never had a nickname. In the previous life of dvxuser it would display just my first name. I can't seem to get it to do that with this new version.

n. A star in the constellation Canis Major, the brightest star in the sky, approximately 8.6 light-years distant from Earth. Also called Dog Star

My boys name:

and company logo: Sirius Productions

So now you know why Sirius Satellite Radio uses a dog as part of their logo too....

Mine is a translation from a language now lost to us and a people who sadly no longer walk this earth. Translated it means "Go fetch that brick I dropped on the way up here so we can finnish building this chimney and go home" A name proudly handed down through many generations.

Mine comes from the airport abreviation for Portland International, which also basically is an abreviation for portland, PDX. And well, the DVX, I think you can figure that part out.....

Who is John Galt? That is the first line in one of the most important books of the 20th century (according to me and Ronald Reagan). The book is called Atlas Shrugged, the author is Ayn Rand, and if you want to understand it read the book. It will be the longest, most tedious (in spots) and most valuable book in your life. Or not.

Mine comes from when I was skydiving. Usually after someone takes their first night jump they are called a "star-shiner". Well, the night I took my first jump it was so cloudy you couldn't see the stars, only blown clouds skuttling across the face of the moon, thus I was dubbed 'Moonwind'. I've used it ever since. It fit right in with my given name as it, first and middle, translates to 'Black' 'Rose' (get busy looking it up!). My Indian name translates to "Midnight Flower" (and the quinky-dink of that is, when I was given my AmerInd name, the shaman was not told my birth name, yet the translations are very close!)

So, that's my story.

Galt - I'm not a reader. I usually only make it through the Table of Contents before getting bored and flipping on the tv or surfing the web. The only book I've read cover-to-cover is Barry Greens DVX Book. Although I'm not well read and legally illiterate, I did catch the Ayn Rand reference. Why you ask? Because, fortunately, "Who is John Galt?" is on the first page. And that's the only literary reference this idiot will ever catch.

I read that book about a year ago. Heh, if I remember correctly, you don't really find out who John Galt is until about two-thirds in. Of course, it took me about a month to get to that part. Although tedious, I don't regret reading it.

Anyway, back on topic, "Rezzie" comes from a nickname my science teacher gave me (my last name is Resnick), which led to my classmates calling me Rezzie, until the nickname stuck.
