What's your name mean?

I have been curious about where some of you have gotten your screen names. I use my own name because when I make a film that is seen publicly I want people to say, "Hey, is that the Joe Fowler I knew..." and I'd be all, "Yeah it's that Joe Fowler, bet you regret taping my butt..." anyway, you get the point. Like I said, just curious what some of your names mean, like "disjecta" and "reservoir" and "bluespider" and "thisiswells" etc.

When I was 16 and first got the *Inner-net* I used my two favorite films at the time "Reservoir Dogs & Pulp Fiction"......put them together and came up with *Reservoirfiction*. But when typing in chatrooms and forums....nobody wanted to type the whole thing......they always just said *reservoir*.....so that's what I went with. Plain old *reservoir*

Okay, I'll Start Out

Okay, I'll Start Out

Real Name: Wells, Brian
Phone Rings and I'll say, "wells here" or "this is wells" hence the origin of my screename.

Mine is a little more complicated. When I was in my teen years I played in several bands, and went through several nicknames. The drummer for one of my bands one day said, man, you play the guitar like a shark. I think he was high, because to this day I don't know if that was a compliment or a put down. The name soon turned into sharky, because we liked watching "EEK the cat" (what a great cartoon). Then When I got into the internet I decided to combine my last name with sharky, thus creating scharky.

My uncle started calling me toilet instead of Tyler......and for some reason he later added bob to the end of it......hence the crappy screen name.

I often wonder what people think I'm bobbin for in a toilet............definitely not bobbin for apples.

I was given the Thai nickname , Isara, by the locals when I first arrived in Thailand. Translated it means, "White Devil" or "The Man Who Takes Our Women."

Actually, it means "Freedom." I guess they figured because I have a lot of free-time and I'm nomadic the name kind of fit. Then again, "The Man Who Takes Our Women", also fits.

NULL; (a) amounting to nothing (b) having no value (insignificant)
PHONIC; (a) of, relating to, or producing sound

So, NULLPHONIC is a self deprecating/loathing, sarcastic outlook on a 15 year music career that included having corporate prison sex with Sony Music for 3 years, releasing a music video the very same month the original Head Bangers Ball was canceled (perfect timing), a European tour that was canceled due to the headliner’s singer beating the crap out of the promoter and months and months of touring that essentially gained me a divorce and the alienation of everyone I've ever known.

But I'm not bitter or anything and my therapist says I’m doing very well

It's now a band name and a production company name.

Wow, I’ve never actually typed out what it means, I’m a whining a**hole apparently

"Gentleman Jersey Dan" is just too long for the new millennium.

Just be glad I don't use the Reverend Ignoratio Elenchi too often. :)

always thought actors had it difficult ... until I started working with musicians.

LOL. I think it's just show business period. Anytime you have to convince a lot of people that wear suits to work everyday that you’re cool enough for them to invest in you it's trouble.

Oh mine I tried to explain at my web site... Basically it's letters/digits combo that came from a PC game Fallout that I somehow remembered and started using for forums nicknames, registration forms, e-mails and stuff, where my usual nicks, like Twister or Roach, were always taken. And so it kinda stuck with me - easier to just type xl70e3 than to spend 20 minutes going through Roach173, Roach2005, Roach_05 suggestions during the registration...

I don't mean to belittle your pain Null, but that sentence gave me the best laugh I've had in a while.
:)

DVXUser is apparently the best therapy there is.

Oh, for the record, my name doesn't mean anything.
I mean, it means something to me I guess seeing as I've gotten used to it over the years.....but, well, you know what I mean.

Thartley is just my first initial and lastname. Terri is the first name, and Hartley is my last. But, in truth, I sign off on everything at work as "thartley", so most of my friends at work call me that.

Man, how boring am I?? (just kidding, please dont answer that) :undecided
