The Mars Volta is a great band. If I'm not mistaken, didnt "At the Drive In" split into Sparta and Mars Volta? All 3 of the groups were/are awsome...

sparta sucked a big one, i saw them with glassjaw and what a dissappointment. too bad glassjaw likes sucking it as well or they wouldve gotten off their asses and made another ground breaking album by now. i'm thankful that atleast i got to see them once in my life, something i can't say for rage against the machine or at the drive in. i remember when i saw them at the vic we waited outside glassjaw's tour van for what had to be an hour in 0 degree chicago weather for a two second photo with daryl. but oh, does that photograph bright back memories. i'd have to say glassjaw's eyewtkas is also one my my favorite albums. the mars volta is the best band i've ever seen live.

I have to go with The Clash, too, but my pick is their first self titled lp. It's a seventies punk masterpiece that ignited the revolution. Joe Strummer R.I.P.

I really wish that I could have seen Rage live... sigh.

Lately I've been listening to a lot of Rise Against and Thought Riot.

Favorite of all time, would probably have to be Static Age by The Misfits.
