What's your editing setup look like? PART II!

Over six years ago (Oct 2004), I started a simple thread, "What's your editing setup look like?". Here we are six years later, and I'm just curious the upgrades everyone's made. My system has grown by leaps and bounds (and moved 3,000 miles to Los Angeles), so I figured why not restart the thread and we can all get gear-boners. Haha.

As a small sidenote, if you can track down the old pictures in the (admittedly gargantuan) older thread, post them up first.

So here I was in 2004, 17 years old, living with my parents, and cutting on Adobe Premiere.

Wow. State of the art. And here I am six years later, 23 years old, an assistant editor living and working in Los Angeles, cutting on the Avid and Final Cut Pro.

(forgive the skewed image, I had to take two photos on my iPhone and mash them together)

Please, everyone, share your images. it's really nice to see how far you've made it in the six years.

you're 23? i use to feel young @ 26, thx for that. ahaha. it reminds me of the other day when i met some 18 year old who purchased his own red one mx. justin biebers of the film world, lol. thankfully most of them have a huge respect for old films.

here is my mobile editing setup, with two sager laptops. they are both desktop core versions of the i7 920 and 980x. 12gb of ram each and 3 SSD's on raid. for CS5 they work extremely well and let me travel anywhere. I still would love to have a traditional studio setup one day.

Truth be told, I look about 32 (i've literally had people guess that age before), so I don't get too much flack for it, it's just when someone finds out, like a post sup or a producer. Then they have a bunch of questions, haha.

This was our setup in 2007 which we built and designed from scratch. There's actually 3 suites in this room. The center is the main editing suite. The right is where I used to score music, tracks anything audio related. The suite on the left which you can't really see is the visual effects suite. Anything compositing, graphics, blah related is done here. So i like to slide from left to right to get the job done. This setup is a bit extreme for most folks. Now I usually can get the same job done all in my laptop and a bottle of Snaple.
