What's your computer set up look like?

Re: What's your computer set up look like?

Woops! forgot the picture..I will post it below.

A bunch of tiny, small things are bothering me today..and one of these was that I haven't posted this descrip. of what was in the bag..(I hate it when people say they will do something and never do it. huge turn off. ) So here it is..with a some junk in between, late and boring, but I did say I would post it.

A few nights ago, I was the subject of a somewhat deflating conversation about my career choices, hence the delay on my posting. Screw that!! ( You know, along the lines of "get a real job! go work at IBM, go to business school or something") No further discussion on this issue desired today, though I'm sure the issue will come up again for me and many of you may live it everyday. UG!

---------
These items were from my "everyday" bag.  I have some nicer "girly" purses, but don't use them that often.

1.iphoto backup disc- Just clutching to memories. Any files that are really important to me, I try and have a copy and put it somewhere else. This would make any evil or disaster I may encounter much bearable. I haven't been able to take new picts lately because my camera was left at a friends house recently. I fear what will be on it when I get it back.
2.wallet- need it to keep supplying my gear habit. I'm sure many of you have the same illness. I've been holding back on a big spend, just need the right thing to happen to set me off and I will grab for the card. Though, I do think it happend this morning.
3.cellphone-no, bluespider,  haven't received a call from Phil. We've all been too busy yacking online.  I try not to use the phone anyway, since sitting around all these monitors gives me enough magnetism or radiation. what ever the hell it is, i'm sure it is exactly the insanity that is making me write this now.
4.DVD remote- thought I would use this in a recent meeting, but didn't. I am actually hiding this sweet thing (the portable DVD player) because it is a lot bigger than it really needs to be. Gotta have some *flash*, ya know. Plus, if it is found, it might lower my present count at Christmas.:)
5)favorite pen- not much commentary, but I like writing with it.  When I get really thoughtful, I use it to write in a journal.
6)library card- at $0.25/book per day, I've wasted a lot in overdues this year. My most recent checkout was in the "self-help" section.  I was researching a phenomena called, "The DVxuser Addiction," by John Hudson, ghost written by TC with a last minute forward by Bluespider. "How to pick up girls" by Phil and "Cellphone Affairs," by Dakotapod.
7)Barry's Book: How did I acquire this little gem? Dr. Gillock, Barry and I have had "contact" and that is all I will say.  He is sworn to secrecy also. Barry, I thought your reply
I don't know, but I get the feeling his photo's going to end up in Pooh's purse somehow..
was hilarious!

8) emergency tooth brush- no comment, just useful. need it for the sweet tooth, which I need to feed very soon.
9) MAC lipliner pen in "Auburn" ( a very useful color..) Buy it for Christmas for your girlfriends and wives. TC- buy it for yourself! A painted face seems rather fitting on you!
10) Terra Tints Natural tinted lip balm. I just need it, is that okay?
11)Scissors- Per Neil's wild imagination: "dragon's forked tounge." I began to fear Rich Lee's siggy would suddenly appear in my real  life, so I don't leave home without it now.
12) Tire Gauge- along the lines of thartleys "survival pack" comment.  I never want a flat tire late at night or some odd time.
13)Sticky Pad- The most visible writing is the dimensions I would need for a better monitor stand. In my recent desk re-org, I went looking for anything that would help hide clutter. I can't escape it though. what was that scientific law, anyone remember something like entrophy?  where everything gets disorderly anyway.
14) Business card holder-A have way, way too many cards since my printer screwed up. They still aren't right on the color anyway.  Don't ever get "UV coating" either, it is impossible to write on. Maybe I should post it in the "new DVX logo" thread?  NAAAaah.

If you've gotten this far, I guess I can say thanks for reading. And regarding Alvarez's "Thanks Post"---Thanks for all the posts I forgot to thank for.  I agree with his vent, even though I was probably guilty a time or two or three or four...I'm sure they were answered by the Barrys or other smart people.

This is about my writing quota for today, since I need to get crackin'! :)

Wow, that was quite a detailed post! Auburn huh? I'll have to check that out, an actress from my next short works at MAC, I'll see if I can get myself a discount.

Re: What's your computer set up look like?

Here is my setup: (Picture Taken: 03/2004)

Since I took this pic I have updated a few of the components. One of them being the 8" production monitor upgraded to a 14" Sony HR.

Re: What's your computer set up look like?

Nice setup JB! I like your Triton! Is that the Motu? Why is your TV monitor so high? My neck will probably break trying to edit while looking up that high. Agian very nice. Finally this thread is back on topic.  :)

Re: What's your computer set up look like?

WOW! :o Nice setup. I'll trade ya.

Bluespider is right, that monitor is REALLY high. It's like sitting in the front row of a movie theater.

Re: What's your computer set up look like?

That monitor is not actually as high as it looks there. It's a 27" presentation monitor, so I'm usually not the one looking at it while editing. I have since lowered it to just above the center channel speaker monitor for easier viewing. I use my 14" Sony HR for reference while editing though.

Re: What's your computer set up look like?

hey cool desk JB... same exact one i'm using. Granted i don't have a pimpin synth stretched across mine ;)

Re: What's your computer set up look like?

I've been looking for a desk just like that...where did you guys get it? How much was it?

Thanks,
Larry

Re: What's your computer set up look like?

I just notice your roland XP back there. How could I miss that. JB, I would like to hear some of your music. ;D
