SWEET SUITE!!! I like all the little lights (red, green, blue). It's like Christmas!  Do you ever get headaches, or a 3rd nipple, sitting so close to those monitors?

Re: Show off your edit station

I'm not going to post mine again! heh!!! It was too psychotically enlightening, even for myself. But, c'mon guys! Your spaces look soooo dressed up for the picture. Candles? Everything in its place? PK, we already know you horde empty toilet paper rolls in your bathroom. Then again, maybe the workstations are somewhat of a holy place, so they are kept sublime and serene for that reason.

The only thing that changes in my workspace is the placement of the coffe cup...and I lose my stickies. I have a whole pack of them on the shelf, but I hate to use a new one when I have half a one buried somewhere.

;D

SP & PK, I notice the two of you have the same optical mouse. PK, you have a webcam, you nasty person you. I'll post mine up and Thartley, I'll make sure I won't dress it all up. I'm going to snap the pic as it is. So if there's a naked midget dancing on my table then he's going to wind up in the snap shot.

Re: Show off your edit station

I sit like 2 feet from my main monitor, so i dont think i willbe developing a 3rd nipple any time soon and i have not added green to my color array, but it sounds like a good idea. Spider, that mouse is the best, no editor should be without one...

I'll have to post a pic of my edit station, so that you can see the filth I surround myself with. You usually can't see my desk.

Streamline productions rules! Your edit station is awsome, and you can never have too many monitors. When are you going to get a color production monitor so you can calibrate and so some color correction? By the way, I still need to edit that piece on your laptop......Oh yea and way to clear off the mountains of crap that were on your desk like 5 minutes before taking that picture! hahaha. You should take a picture of the "screening room" portion of your edit station, you know...with the 42'' high def. tv and wireless x-box controllers with built in fans on the handles so your palms dont get sweaty....

Re: Show off your edit station

Danny Boy, do you have ANY idea what an awesome setup that is? That's really nice. Don't ever down play your equipment again. There are some filmmakers who don't have half the equipment you have.

I like the placement of the surround sound speakers, near the keyboard. I also like how there's a Canon poster but a Sony sitting below it. Not to mention the other consumer miniDV over on the right. Wish I had one of those for playback purposes. Oh, and I see an iPod. Honestly, you've got too much for a kid your age! Sell what you don't need and donate the money.

You're a lucky boy. Don't forget it.

Finally here's my humble setup.. It's not as cool looking as all your edit suites. It's comfortable most of the times. Like I tell everyone, It's not what you have, it's how you freaking use it.

PS: ignore the sponge bob mouse pad. One of my kids gave that to me for christmas. Out of respect for the kid, BAMM!!

Re: Show off your edit station

What kind of audio monitors are those? and what kind of mic/mixer setup are you running? Is that a TRV-900 I see in the reflection in the mirror, which you tried to cleverly hide behind you mic and pop screen? I hope you only use that as your vtr. :P

Re: Show off your edit station

Re: Show off your edit station

spidy, ..you must get some spectacular stereo sound from your speaker placement. ;)

Re: Show off your edit station

I am sure spider has the rest of his 6.1 surround setup correctly placed....for optimal audio accuracy..... ;)

Those are the M-audio BX5. The board is a Tascam FW1884 which is sweet! You know, i didn't notice I had the TRV in the shot. Hehe, I use it only for capturing and playback.

Neil, hehe, music industry people make fun of me all the time when they see my speaker placement. It's temporarly. Space is very limited and I just decieded to place them there for the time being. Plus I like everything in mono anyway. I'm old school. ;)

Re: Show off your edit station

i will be getting a color production monitor as soon as i can afford one, for now i just use a regular monitor and calibrate it with the tools inside premiere pro.

Blue: Do you by any chance play the piano? Or do you use it to experiment what sounds good? I want a setup with a keyboard for music but I'm not very good at the piano yet (taking lessons).

I play alittle. For starters get something cheap like mine with midi so you can plug that into your com and sequence. It's a good way to impress the ladies. ;)
