Do you live near Chernobyl? Ha It looks like one of those "leaf bugs"

[Dingos8mybaby]

Looks like a "Walking Leaf" or Leaf Insect. Member of this bug fam: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phylliidae

There are ones up here (in Toronto) too, but a lot smaller than that one, which, by the vid, looks to be ~ 2" long. All you need now is a Walking Stick and one of those moths that looks like bark, and you've got yourself a tree.

[Alex H.]

It's called a Katydid.

Katydids make a huge racket. We have them all over the place in TN this time of year.

[Al MacLeod]

Tastes like chicken...

[grinner]

lil bastage shot butt acid on my lens!
between that and a misguided bottle rocket while shooting the stop-motion war, man the ole lens aint very mint these daze.

[Tom Shortridge]

Ah, katydids.

"Then what are tigers made of?"

"Dragonflies and katydids,
but mostly chewed-up little kids."

[gco]

Definitely a katydid but I have never seen one pissed off like that.
Than bug's got a major 'tude!

[grinner]

sure enough.
He was out there the night before and the kids told me about him. Havn't seen him since this night tho.
