What's the latest with the firmware hack..?

I've had a look through the very extensive thread on the hack, but can't find out a few things....

I'm basically just looking for improved image quality / cleaner image etc. over the standard firmware:

What does the 'Native 24p/25p' setting do?

Does 720p 50p --> 720p 25p just throw away frames...?

Has the MjPEG mode got an option for 25p?

Out of all of the options, are there currently any settings which improve 720p or 1080p footage?
 
Is there a summary anywhere? 127 pages is a bit of a slog for even the most devoted user :)

Patience! If you want a GH1 Hack for Dummies Page you will have to wait. It will come out eventually.

If you want it now, you're going to have to work for it (yes, read it). Don't be overcritical of the process, as there's just one person doing nearly all the work.

It's exciting to see lot of things going on, but I'm personally just waiting until everything can be explained pretty well... there will be a clear summary by some person kind enough to do it... but let's not complain that there isn't one yet.

I assume you guys asking have all donated? If not, then you should not be complaining about anything.
 
E-STEVE's got it right!! If you want the goods, you gotta work for it--it's a good read. Some things are worth the effort. It's like the search for the holy grail- happy hunting:)

I dunno about that, mon. I've been following this thread since day 1, and now I want a simple answer whether the hack will allow PAL to NTSC and I can't seem to find it anywhere! I know its in there, and I've also tried slugging through all 127 pages again just to find it, but really folks, I can't find it.

Actually a simple summary (actually a LIST) of what has been achieved will be good enough and will benefit plenty (me included).

All you need is to look at screenshot at first page to get your answer.
Also, try to learn to use Search feature.
Someone must write this summary you want, and I won't be this someone.
Forums are famous for such kind of questions (all guys like to cut corners), and on many forums you'll be already banned :-)

Thank you for pointing me to the screenshot at the first page - but does this mean we can switch system back and forth as necessary, or is it a one-time switching when you install the firmware? This point is not clear.

BTW, also mentioned earlier that I have been following the thread since the beginning and I went over it one more time - so I am not cutting corners. I AM afraid to brick my camera if I mess it up.

Anyway, congratulations on the great work - it is much appreciated. Once I get my current workload off my chest, I'll give you a hand and write that summary we're talking about.

As we don't have any interface yet it is fixed after firmware upgrade.
With next firmware update you can change system again, etc.
