What's the latest 3ccd digital video camera?

Hi, I'm lookin' for a 3ccd digital video camera, like Canon Xh-A1(s)? or the good old dvx? But I'd like one in HD. If anyone has a good recommendation and experience, please share it!!!

3 CCD cameras are on the way out the door- The latest would be the XHA1S, HMC150, HPX170, HVX200A -
Panasonic and Canon's newest models have gone CMOS and Sony has been there for a while.

The HMC150 or XHA1s are IMO the closest to a DVX style but in HD.
The Panasonic AC130 coming this fall looks like a very nice upgrade to that tried and true formula. It's like an HMC150 but more....it adds-
1. 21x zoom lens with 3 rings
2. Very nice LCD and VF
3. The chips from the HPX370 which produce a very sharp image
4. DV recording (to cards...not tape)
5. Very nice form factor and body

It is also 3CMOS rather than 3CCD....but Barry Green's skew test on the HPX370 chips yielded good results.

(If you're buying right now- check the marketplace. Just yesterday one of our members was selling a VERY clean low hour HMC150 for $2250....a steal!)

Yeah...I was going to mention the JVC but it costs $6000. In that price range I would suggest the OP consider the CMOS alternatives as well - The Canon XF300, the EX1R, the upcoming Panasonic HPX 250 etc.
Maybe I didn't correctly interpret the OPs question...but I thought he was looking at the more DVX/XHA1 body style and pricing as well as 3CCD. The JVC is shoulder mount and ergonomically much different IMO.

Thanks guys for many suggestions. I really appreciate them!
Yeah looking for a dvx type but newer and not as expensive as the mentioned JVC camera lol
I know CMOS is taking over and 3CCD is going out the door, but I'm just worried about rolling shutter... I shoot handheld mostly like in Paul Greengrass style... I wonder though, if the recent CMOS technology has overcome that jello effect issue. As you can see, I haven't tried new video cameras, so I wouldn't know. Have any of you shot crazy handheld with new CMOS cameras?

No, CMOS hasn't overcome the jello issue. It's better on the newer cameras but if you go telephoto it's still there.

The only game in town for a tapeless, handheld 3CCD camcorder is probably the HMC150.

Hmm I see. I hope CMOS overcomes that problem in the near future...
I'll look into HMC150 and consider using it if i can get my hand on it lol

Thanks for your opinion!

JVC HM100 seems to have a nice image for 3chips.

Don't forget the hm710, hm700 and hm790. I wonder what the new jvc 4k camera will have in it. Does jvc have the muster to make the chip themselves?
