What's the highest "acceptable" ISO?

How clean is ISO 1600?

I suppose that for SD and the Web it should work out fairly well, but for anything bigger is it acceptable?

I'm hoping that at least ISO 800 is clean enough for most uses.

800 is very nice, but let's wait till the camera is finished before we make any final assessments on anything higher.
