An anamorphic adapter will give you a true 16:9 image using the full resolution that the DVX provides.
A 35mm adapter will give you the shallow depth of field that comes with shooting through 35mm lenses.
What looks better is a subjective thing.

They serve different purposes. You could use anamorphic 35mm lenses on a 35mm adaptor and get the look and benefits of both.
