Hey could someone who has purchased a second handle for the Manfrotto 503HDV tripod please help me confirm what the actual model number is for that tripod. Manfrotto is making it pretty confusing. From what I can tell, the Manfrotto website says it should be the 519lv. However, whenever I look for that model at online stores, they say it is for the 519 and 526 tripods. To make matters worse, there is a handle model called a 503lv which would seem like the correct model by its name, but it looks like this handle is just for the older 503 tripod not the HDV.

So I know some of you guys have bought the second handle, can you please verify which one properly fits the 503HDV?

Thanks!!!!

Manfrotto has at least two different splines for their handles. The handles, to my knowledge are all the same, the clamps change to fit the head. The older spline fits the older 503, 516 and probably the 526. The newer spline fits the 504, 519 and maybe your newer 503. I couldn't figure it out either when I went from a 503 to a 504, but I called the Manfrotto parts service center and they were pretty helpful. For sure, if you have an existing pan handle, like a 522p, all you need to do is change the clamp.

The right additional handle is effectively the Manfrotto 519LV Telescopic pan bar for 519.

I do have one for my 503HDV.
