F35: what's the cheapest EVF that works on the F35

I think you're going to drive yourself nuts with this and you'd be much better off with a universal solution that you could use on various cameras over time.

I believe the F35 VF port pins carry an HD Component signal, so an SD VF isn't going to recognize it. In theory, you could interrupt the signal path and convert that to SD, and adapt for the rest of the pins, but that really isn't simple, practical, or cheap.

You could use something like an Alphatron with one of the monitor SDI ports... I've seen those for as little as $600 or so, but then you have to figure out your mounting.

For a B/W EVF you definitely want the HDVF20A. To nail focus you can't get much better than this EVF. The image looks like a "silver print". Makes you WANT to shoot and allows you to focus on aesthetics and composition.

I tried telling them this on page one. But they didn't listen. WE'll see who's crazy now ha ha ha ha

The Alphatron is fine as long as you're feeding it a 1080 signal. It's not in the same league as an OLED VF like a Sony or Zacuto Graticle, but it's still good.
