Whats the best way to use VoB files from a DVD?

I made a football highlight video last year, and need to pull some clips for college propositions. My original files were corrupted. Is there a program that doesn't degrade the quality when creating wmv or avi files from a VOB? I tried just renaming the extention mpeg, but it comes out jumpy like its missing frames. Any help would be appreciated.
 
First Use a DVD decryptor to change all the files into 1 VOB.
then use Autogk software to convert that VOB into AVI.

it works well without any visual quality loss..
