Whats the best setting

A loaded question I know. But if I want to preserve my quality after shooting say 720p/24pn or 1080i/24p what settings do I use when exporting to a quicktime movie using quicktime conversion? should I even be using conversion? I use FCP. (not the latest version) Ive exported quite a bit messing with the settings and with many different results. aspect ratio gets whonky etc... under size what should I put, frame, current setting? do I preserve aspect ration. sometimes I get a stretched pic. sorry if this is too much to ask in one post. just wondering if there is a common set up.

there is no "common" setup. you'll have to do the math to figure out what size and aspect ratio to set your output settings. under custom size - you can do whatever you want to suit your needs.

it all depends on what (and whom) youre exporting for...?
