What's going on or wrong with these framegrabs? And is this good high lights for you?

What about this? Do you consider this good high light roll off?

Almost 100 views and nobody reply? Maybe people don't understand the question? What I mean is about pattern in background. Is this from filter? And want to know if you think the high light in the other framegrab is good in your opinion.

Looks like it would be from a filter. What glass did you have in front of the lens? I don't see the issue in the other frame grabs. Highlights look good to me. I really like the colour. It looks very nostalgic to me. What lens did you use for the 2nd picture. The Bokeh looks very wooly to me.

Almost looks like netting or bug screen/scrim behind him.

I agree pattern looks like what you get when a net comes into focus. Rocky III has this problem on the beach scenes. Very odd for it to appear in non-highlights. Looks more like a kaleidoscope

Highlights in picture three look fine - it's blown out but it's natural colours so if that was the intention, seems fine

Ok I suspected was filter. First 2 frames are from F65 video. Last is Alexa. I think high light division is a little too harsh. Maybe is my monitor. I didn't shoot them by the way.

for the last one being alexa, the highlights do seem a little toasty but who knows how it was exposed or graded

I thought the ccd DID contribute a little flavor like specular highlight blooming. I for one love the vertical streaking you get with CCD. Not for every project of course but for everyone seeking horizontal anamorphic flares I'll take anything that sets the images apart from the herd
