What would you rather have? T2i vs 5diii with lens combos

So I'm shooting a business profile and testimonials thing for a few days. Will be shooting in office space and lighting interviews. I'm trying to figure out what to put together as far as renting lens' and such. Here's what's looking like my two options: (all canon lens')

OPTION 1
5dmiii
24 - 105 f4
17 - 40 f4

OPTION 2
T2i
24 - 70 2.8L
24 1.4L ii
135 2L
Tokina 11-16 2.8

I own the t2i but have rented the 5d before and and didn't see a huge video quality difference when its low ISO and going online. I'll be shooting this for internet and interviews lit, so won't have too much need for high ISO. After pricing it out the OPTION 2 is only $10 cheaper, but has better glass which could be a bigger difference then just the camera bodies. The other reason for getting the 5dmiii oppose to mii is just because it takes SD cards and I got a crap load of them and no CF cards.

Any suggestions or thoughts? Thanks.

if youre renting, why rent slow zooms? if it were my choice for locked off interviews id just rent a couple bad-ass primes.

another thought. for "business" interviews, unless you have SUPER cooperative and proactive clients. id bet you may have someone show up in a herringbone jacket or finely detailed tie. and youre likely to encounter the dreaded canon moire. i'd look into maybe renting a GH2.

I'll assume you have your audio already worked out.

If possible I'd use both cams. One getting a tight shot the other getting a medium shot.

Phillip Bloom is saying the 5D3 is still the best camera out there, over everything else. You might read his review & watch the videos from the beginning of the year when he compares it to the D800, etc. In particular, better on moire and aliasing.

I love the Canon 24-70. If I had to use only one lens forever, that would be it.

A lot of the C300 guys are using the 24-105 as their primary lens. I just bought the 5D3 kit with the 24-105, but haven't had a chance to compare that to the 24-70 yet. I like the 2.8 for it's viewfinder brightness too..

I would say the 5D3 with the 24-70. If you own the T2i, shoot that with one good prime or zoom that you own or rent.

Good luck!
Michael
