What Video Card are you using?

I'm bummed that my Blackmagic Intensity Pro card doesn't support 24p playback to my broadcast monitor. (I downconvert the playback to SD). What cards are people using out there for monitoring, etc.? I'm looking at the Kona LHi, Blackmagic HD Extreme, and the Matrox MXO2 LE when it comes out. Anyone experienced with this?

Just to let you know, the Intensity card will play back 30p & 60i no problem, just not 24p. My system is a 1st Gen. MacPro Quad 2.66 w/ 10GB of RAM. I ingest into ProRES 422 as my intermediate format. I'm currently running FCS 3, but also had the same problems with FCS 2.

Thanks for any help or input.

Cheers,

since no one said anything... i'd like to share what i'm using and that's a very old nvidia quadro fx 3400. i got it off someone from craigslist. if anyone can chime in if this is good enough or any comments. that would be great.

Basic, Nvidia 9600GT 512mb, nothings spesh but it supports 1920x1080 playback, has dual DVI and HDMI and was cheap and its never missed a beat.

Video I/O Card, not graphics card

Video I/O Card, not graphics card

I guess I should clarify that I'm talking about my video I/O card that's taking a broadcast signal to my broadcast monitor for accurate color grading. My graphics card is an nVidia card which goes to my computer monitor, but I would never color correct from that one.

This was never an issue with 24p from the DVX100 because it's introducing a 2:3:3:2 pulldown which was playing out over 60i so the BlackMagic Intensity card was able to handle that signal. But when I play my HMC150 footage which is shot at 720p23.98 the footage flickers when playing back. I can do scene to scene color correction because I can still grade the frame, it's just a little annoying that I can't see my work play out live. (I can still watch it on the computer monitor, but that defeats the purpose of the broadcast monitor).

So back to my original question was what I/O cards or devices are people using for broadcast monitoring of their 24p HD work?

And thanks to the other 2 who've responded. Cheers!
