GH3 What type of lens do you need for timelapses?

I am looking at this lens right now, but it's a zoom lens:


Panasonic H-HS12035 LUMIX G X VARIO 12-35mm/F2.8 ASPH X Series Lens

Low light time lapses always seem very sharp so I am wondering if a prime wide angle lens would be better. Using the GH3.

Might try researching or posting at a site like timelapse.org, but I would use a slower, wide angle lens like the 7-14mm.

for timelapse you don't need a fast lens, thats what the shutter speed is for. the 7-14mm is a magical lens for some really nice wide 10mm shots. the 12-35 is a better investment in a lens for all round use.

I'm also thinking about what lens would be good for timelapse with the GH3 and have read a lot of good things about the Tokina 11-16, anyone that has any opinions about how it works with the GH3?

I shot this with my GH3 and the Lumix 14-140mm

And I shot this, on the same day, with my AF100 and the Lumix 12-35. They are both pretty fine lenses.
