What to do with used Mini-DV tapes?

I have a ton of old and used Mini-DV tapes that I don't need or want anymore. Is there any way to recycle them or should I just trash them?
Thanks,
Andrew

If they are source footage for projects you have done you may want to organize them and put them away in safe storage. You just never know, ya know? If they are not of any value, footage wise, then maybe donate them to a local student filmmaker cooperative or something like that is still using mini-DV. Check churches, local rec centers, elementary or high schools. I would bulk erase them before I did that, BTW.

You can donate it to Green Disk http://www.greendisk.com/

The tapes are erased and provided to non-profit organizations and agencies
of government (police, etc).

You might also consider donating them to your local school, community center
or church. It's a good bet they haven't gone tapeless yet :)

Consume them. With some fava beans and a nice chianti...
Chianti? What are we, cavemen? I recommend the 2004 Signorello Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. It's very fine and rich, especially the texture, which is velvety smooth. The tannins are a wonder, perfectly ripe and soft. This will serve to compliment the somewhat brittle texture of the tapes, which should be sautéed in butter.

A little teasing, a bit of colour...

Or a classic Pabst Blue Ribbon, vintage.... Tuesday!
