[WTB] What to buy Replace HVR-Z1U

Hey Guys,

I have an upcoming project in which I plan to make the jump and buy a new camera to replace my HVR-Z1U. The reason I am upgrading is I want to get a full 1080p Camera but I'm honestly sick of tape.

I have looked at a few options and I like the Sony PMW-Ex1 and a friend of mine is really interested in the Canon 5D mkii. Finance wise I plan to sell the Z1U and front the gap. I am interested in any opinions on these two camera's or any other suggestions as well.

I'm still finding it hard to overcome the size of the 5D lol. I know that size ain't everything but it's still a mental thing!!
 
Z7 should be the natural upgrade, EX1 / EX3 is a good option if you don't need tape. But what is your project ?
 
Hey guys,
Yeah I don't need tape at all. I'm still heading toward the EX-1 But am intrigued with the 5D. The project is a short film set it a house at night. I know the complications and challenges with filming at night and I kinda want to remove the added annoyance of tape. I love my Z1U don't get me wrong it's really been a solid performer. Just want a change.
