no problem if you edit 25p in premiere.
24pA in NTSC needs a special pull-down process that not all NLE are capable to do.. but i don't know much about the NTSC sides of things, anyway, your 25p/pal doesn't need it, cos... roughly, it sits perfectly on a 50i timeline.

What version of Premiere (6.5 or Pro version) ? I use Vegas 4.0 for my NLE, however I have another machine using Premiere 6.5. Premiere 6.5 doesn't have auto detectscene which is not as smart as Vegas capture utility. In Premiere you can capture from capture menu in Premiere, however you need OHCI card supported by your OS and Premiere 6.5, otherwise Premiere will not recognize the Firewire and also your DV Camera.
