What the Hell?

I just came across the panasonic ag-dvc60 and ag-dvc80. The look EXACTLY like the dvx. WTF? What is the difference between these cams and the dvx? They shoot it 24p...

This is weird. These cameras are not listed on panasonics website. I checked pro and consumer video.

Well...that first one's not even a picture of the DVC60. The DVC60 is shoulder mounter, and the DVC-80 is a slimmed down DVX (I think).

Neither of them shoot 24p or have the same feature set as the DVX.

Oh, and they're not on Panasonic's website because they've both been discontinued.

Hmmm. I heard the dvc80 does shoot in 24p. I guess not. So it's like a dvx that doesn't shoot 24p? That's an oxymoron... no wonder they discontinued it.

The DVC80 had a very short shelf life, it was only on the market for less than a year or so. It was an interlaced-only, stripped-down version of the DVX.

i think the DVC80 had no color temp or gamma settings in the scene files.

I don't think there was ever a market niche for the DVC80 between the DVC30 and the DVX100.
