This cannot be the same woman who wore that metal bikini in Jedi!...A boyhood fantasy died when I saw this video. I know she's 52, but talk about hitting the wall! She hit the wall and then two others behind it! Oh, and that scarf ain't foolin' anyone!...So sad.

Time happened, as it will happen to all of us at sometime or other. But you are right, some folk just don't age as well as others. I think Ann Margret is still pretty hot for any age.

Like you said...some folks age more gracefully than others. but I have to believe all that drinking, smoking and taking illicit drugs had a harsh effect on her aging. Think about all the other stars who went (going) thru the same thing.l I can name a few..Margot Kidder, Mel Gibson, Makenzie Phillips, etc. Heck...Eddie Van Halen...also comes to mind.

If you fill your body with poison and toxins, it has no recourse but to break down. You simply cannot cheat nature. She was absolutely stunning as Princess Leia though.

Well, no matter how she looks, she is an amazingly frank, talented and grounded woman. Her voice, skill and her sense of humor trump the rest.

Anybody here over 50? Post a picture of yourself in your early twenties and post a comparison picture of yourself now.

Or.... dig up some old pictures of your Mom. :)

Yes, we all age differently, but cut her some slack.

Hey, as others have noted, she looked decent on On The Lot only a year ago, but it seems as though she's fallen apart in a pretty short time. Anyway, this might explain why--

Fisher Cured By Electro Therapy

10 December 2008 11:22 PM, PST

Actress Carrie Fisher credits drastic electric shock therapy with helping her beat depression.

After years of battling an addiction to alcohol, illegal and prescription drugs, Fisher suffered severe bouts of depression, that no course of medicine could cure.

She finally caved in and followed the advice of professionals who claimed electro convulsive therapy could cure her - and it did.

Fisher, 52, says, "I didn't want to do it for years. They wanted me to do it before, because I was in a depression, which was medication proof.

"You don't have a convulsion anymore, so it should just be called electro therapy. But it worked so well, I highly recommend it, even if you don't need it!"

Actually, if you know a lot of people who have reached 50 you will notice a BIG change once they age every year from then on. For most people anyway.
This has been my experience.

Still, you guys are comparing an early twenties girl to someone in their fifties.

Like I said, get out some OLD pictures of Mom if she's in her fifties and take a look. :)

Some will have aged gracefully, most will have just aged.

Met a Lady last year, thought she was like 45ish, actualy she was 62!
Knocked me of my socks, she was so attractive.

Other poeple, you can see tha age, but it becomes them, like Harrison Ford and Karen Allen.
Both are getting old, but they still have young eyes like teenagers.
I think the eyes make a big difference.

Sorry, are you saying that the ECT is what caused her to look this way, as opposed to the years of drugs and drinking?

I've seen lots of people get ECT. It ain't for everyone, but like any tool in the toolbox, it has its place.

I was just speculating. I'm not a doctor. I guess it's just that in the last year she's gained a lot of weight, perhaps because the ECT cured her dependency on drugs and her metabolism has shifted, much as people gain weight after quitting smoking.

Thing is, I have always loved Carrie Fisher because of her Princess Leia gig...as I'm sure most all of us did.

In "When Harry Met Sally" the eye candy was Meg Ryan but I still had a soft spot for her. In her busty casting director turn in Soap Dish...I loved her still. In watching her 'On the Lot' stint she looked pretty fantastic to me. This clip...she looks, sounds, seems vastly different. I have a hard time believing it was just the aging of one year. She sounded like she smoked 18 packs a day for the past 10 months and was hungover. I really think there is more going on here in this video. She really looked and sounded great in her "On the Lot" video. I hope she is not battling anything these days.

yikes. it seems like she has changed a good deal since she was in "on the lot". this change seems more drastic than just aging.
