Anyone recall what the "F" means that I am seeing in front of my Fs7's resolution indicator? It reads "F1920X1080". I switched to interlace, then back to progressive, and the "F" went away. But I'd still like to know what it was indicating. Couldn't find it in the Fs7 manual.
Didn't refresh the page...person above has got it.
To add:
When you switch to a certain setting - in this case a different resolution or format that doesn't support a scan mode - the letter disappears and uses its default option.
When you go back to a compatible resolution or format, it either remembers the last setting and shows the letter again (in the FS7's case...if that was the last setting), or forgets and goes back to a default option (which you then would see any letter disappear).
Not sure what the FS7 exactly does (don't remember), but that's how all cameras work. (It's like a grayed out menu item...or one that disappears under certain circumstances.)
Thank you all who replied. Yep, it appears that the "F" is for "FULL scan". The only thing is the inconsistency at which it appears. That is, it appeared when I first went from 59.94 progressive to 59.94 interlace but after switching back to progressive and then to interlace again, it did not re-appear. Now I cannot make it re-appear. Chalk it up to quirks of the Fs7 / Sony system. ( shrug )
Your timely replies are a reason I love this forum. Thanks again.
