Ok, quick question, I’m at work so I can’t test this myself, but can I import .wmv’s directly into avid?

Also, I am being asked to bid a job where I would be editing a series of 5 to 8 min wmv’s down to 1 min segments. They are animated comics, seem to be taken from flash so I could probably request them in whatever format I want. Any idea how much I should ask for on this job? (I don’t know how many clips there are so it would have to be on a per clip basis.)

No, you would need to convert them to QT first.

As far as editing, get a sense of how long each one would take - apply an hourly rate to it, then a daily rate to see what you would charge...
